Saison Farmhouse Ale By Soul Barrel X Afro Caribbean

Grenache Saison is a unique collaboration between Afro Caribbean and Soul Barrel, bringing together the worlds of beer and wine in a beautifully expressive farmhouse ale. Crafted using whole-bunch Grenache grapes sourced from neighbouring Vrede en Lust in Simondium, the grapes were crushed and allowed to begin fermentation on their skins before being blended with a saison wort brewed from wheat, oats, and local hops.

The beer was then co-fermented, finished with saison yeast and raspberries, and bottle-conditioned for six weeks to develop its natural effervescence. The result is a dry, structured, and highly aromatic farmhouse ale that captures the character of the Simonsberg region while celebrating the shared traditions of brewing and winemaking.

Elegant yet rustic, it is a true expression of fruit, place, and season. Tasting Notes: Nose: Fresh red berries, raspberry, wildflowers, subtle spice, and delicate farmhouse funk. Palate: Dry and refreshing with layers of red berry fruit, gentle tartness, light tannin, wheat softness, and subtle saison spice.
